The Gold Beneath the Sea

A single-room demo for an underwater pirate-themed escape room!

While deep diving off the coast of Nassau, you find yourself magically transported aboard a sunken derelict pirate ship. As an unwitting new member of the crew, your only way off is to find the old captains' treasure. Good luck, matey!

Solution (THERE BE SPOILERS BELOW)

You'll need to press the buttons below the captain posters in the right order to unlock the door and get to the treasure.

On the wanted board, the posters can be seen as arranged within a 3x3 grid. Note the position of each pirate captain within the grid.

Using the wheel in the center of the ship, you can change the angle of the light coming in through the ceiling grate at the bow of the ship. This light casts the shape of a 3x3 grid on the side of the ship. At each position, the light illuminates roman numerals at certain grid positions that correspond to the pirate captains at those positions (on the notice board).

Match the roman numerals illuminated by the light with their corresponding pirate captain, and press the buttons in order from 1 to 5. The door to the captain's treasure room will then open.
